The United States of America, the country where leasing in its present form originated and developed, has held the proud position of the largest leasing market in the World for a long number of years. With about 2000 leasing companies, leasing forms the second most important source of funding for American companies, next only to bank loans. Not only do US markets represent one of the most innovative markets, it is US-based or US-controlled companies that control leasing activity in lots of other countries in the World, particularly the emerging markets.
